More than 20 nursing students from Saint Anthony College of Nursing’s community health class are hosted a health fair at the Rockford Rescue Mission on Tuesday, March 7. The Senior II nursing students showcased their posters, provided educational hand-outs and offered blood pressure checks to the Mission residents. The Rockford Rescue Mission is one of several local organizations that students in the community health class visit to offer education on disease prevention and health promotion such as healthy eating, hypertension and diabetes awareness.
SACN faculty, staff and students organized a “Giving Garland” once again this holiday season. The college collected more than 150 pairs of gloves, scarves and hats that were donated to St. Elizabeth’s Community Center in Rockford for people in need.
